Welcome to Better Sleep

Congratulations on taking the first step towards better sleep! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to track your first night with SleepYou.

Step 1: Download and Install

Download SleepYou from the App Store or Google Play Store. The app is free to download and you can start tracking immediately without creating an account.

Step 2: Grant Permissions

For the best experience, SleepYou needs a few permissions:

  • Motion & Fitness - To detect your sleep stages and movements
  • Microphone - Optional, but needed for snoring detection
  • Notifications - For bedtime reminders and your smart alarm

Don't worry - all data stays on your device. We never upload your sleep data to the cloud.

Step 3: Set Your Smart Alarm

Before bed, set your desired wake time window. For example, if you need to be up by 7:30 AM, set a window of 7:00-7:30 AM. SleepYou will wake you during light sleep within this window, helping you feel more refreshed.

Step 4: Place Your Phone

Put your phone on your nightstand, screen down, within arm's reach. Make sure it's plugged in to avoid battery drain. The phone should be on a stable surface near your bed.

Step 5: Start Tracking

Tap the "Start Tracking" button and place your phone down. SleepYou will automatically detect when you fall asleep and begin monitoring your sleep stages. Sweet dreams!

Step 6: Review Your Results

In the morning, after dismissing your alarm, you'll see a detailed summary of your night including total sleep time, sleep stages, and any snoring detected. Swipe through to see beautiful charts and insights.

Pro Tips for Accurate Tracking

  • Keep your phone plugged in throughout the night
  • Place your phone on the nightstand closest to where you sleep
